Each year, more than 2.5 million visitors experience the park's nearly 800,000 acres of monolithic rock formations, iconic Joshua trees, serene desert vistas, and brilliant starry nights. The city is also home to the ancient Oasis of Mara, which dates back more than 9,000 years, and gateway to the Mojave National Preserve and Mojave National Monuments.
