Vacation Home Rental Compliance

In the event that you are experiencing problems from a property you suspect to be a Vacation Home Rental (VHR):

1. Please check to see if there is a VHR sign at the property and call the 24-Hour number displayed on the Vacation Home Rental Sign.
3. Contact the VHR 24-Hour number and provide information of the issues taking place.
2. Call the Hotline if there is no sign.

Residents, business owners, and visitors are encouraged to call the hotline anytime, day or night, that they experience a problem with a VHR however the hotline will have a live person from Friday - Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. To support the hotline, the City has hired a private security company for noise, parking concerns, and other related issues.  Outside of the Friday-Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. timeframe, City staff will address the calls but, more than likely will go to a voicemail first then be addressed thereafter.   


The following issues are the easiest to recognize and should be reported by calling the VHR complaint hotline immediately: 

  • Noise, music or the use of any amplified equipment after the City quiet hours 10:00 p.m.- 7:00 a.m.

  • The maximum number of vehicles. parking overnight shall in no case exceed the number of available on-site parking spaces.

  • Loud or disruptive behavior or unreasonable noise caused by the occupants. 

  • Trash and refuse except during regular collection days and times. 


*If the call is related to a disturbance, it is important that you call during the event so that we may respond in a timely manner. If possible obtain photos or video of the violations. 


In addition to calling, you may also file a complaint online. Please note, this service is not to report complaints that require immediate assistance.
