Planning Commission

Acting in their role as the planning agency for the City of Twentynine Palms, the Planning Commission prepares and implements the General Plan; recommends regulations for future growth, development, and beautification of the City; reviews and makes recommendations to the City Council on proposed subdivisions, and holds Public Hearings to review development and land-use applications.
 
Planning Commission meetings may be held on the first or third Tuesday of each month at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall (6136 Adobe Road). These dates may change at times; please check the meeting calendar. All meetings are open to the public, and citizens are invited to attend and participate in the decision-making process.
 
Members of the Planning Commission represent diverse backgrounds. They employ their unique experience and perspective to develop consensus in implementing the City Council's policies and directives in land use matters. The City Council appoints the Planning Commission from applicants from the public at large. The Term of office shall be (4) four years, or until their successor is sworn into office. Terms shall be staggered, with three terms expiring in February following the City Council election and two terms expiring in December following a two-person City Council Election.
