Measure G

The City of Twentynine Palms has been proactive in planning and controlling costs. However, the strain on vital City services is growing as ongoing expenses outside the City’s control continue to outpace available resources. The City continues to be strategic to ensure continuity of the most critical services, but Twentynine Palms is one of the few communities in the region without a local sales tax, and additional funding is essential to sustain current City services and protect Twentynine Palms’ quality of life.

 

Measure G Defined: On July 14, 2026, the Twentynine Palms City Council voted unanimously to place Measure G, on the November 3rd 2026 ballot. Measure G asks voters to choose whether or not to approve a 1% sales tax, which would provide approximately $2 million annually, until ended by voters. Measure G funds, upon City Council approval, would help provide the essential public services and facilities that residents in Twentynine Palms rely on.
