Welcome from the Mayor

The City of 29 Palms is a very unique place that provides a variety of events and activities to do, see, and be a part of.

The City was incorporated in 1987, encompasses 58 square miles, and is home to 29,000+ residents. The City is located in the Morongo Basin on the southern edge of the Mojave Desert, roughly 50 miles north of Palm Springs. We have an active Art in Public Places Program, world-class Oasis of Murals, 300+ days of sunshine each year, brilliant starry night skies, well-maintained parks and recreational facilities, abundant natural and cultural amenities, reasonably priced housing, ample lodging for tourists, and a variety of restaurants.

Twentynine Palms is the home of Joshua Tree National Park Headquarters and Oasis Visitor Center and hosts the North Entrance to the Park's nearly 800,000 scenic acres. More than 3.3 million visitors visit the Park each year to experience the scenic views, monolithic rock formations, ancient Joshua trees, abundant wildflowers and wildlife, two desert eco-systems, rock climbing, hiking, and camping.

The City's neighbor to the north is the world's largest Marine Corps training base, the 935-square-mile Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms. Besides providing a site for outstanding desert warfare training, MCAGCC gives economic support to the community and civilian employment for many residents of Twentynine Palms.

I'm excited about serving you as the Mayor of Twentynine Palms in 2024. We have a very strong relationship with the Marine Corps Base, and I desire to see that relationship grow even stronger. We will also maintain our very robust liaisons with Joshua Tree National Park, the Town of Yucca Valley, and our County and State Representatives. I will strive to bring County and State resources to Twentynine Palms, and we will continue to develop and grow our infrastructure. It is also my desire to see the City grow even stronger. I will ensure that Twentynine Palms is a safe, thriving community where people will want to make their homes. Together we can make this happen.

Please let us know if we can assist you or answer any questions. Feel free to contact our City Staff or me by phone at (760) 367-6799, email, or personally visit City Hall at 6136 Adobe Road.
