Ancillary Commercial Business and Ancillary Live Entertainment Licenses

The City of Twentynine Palms recognizes that commercial and industrial establishments are developing shared workspaces and offering services beyond the primary purpose of their business. The City has developed the process to establish the development and operation of ancillary uses, commercial activities and live entertainment through the new Ancillary License (City of Twentynine Palms Development Code Chapter 19.101). Only businesses in commercial locations with current business licenses in good standing can apply for an Ancillary Licenses. The Ancillary License applications can be submitted for Ancillary Commercial Business and Ancillary Live Entertainment. You will need to ensure that the current business is in compliance with all Federal, State, County and City codes.

Please ensure that you have the following information/documents that are required for the Ancillary License Application:

  • Certificate of Occupancy
  • Proof of Insurance (that covers the operation of ancillary uses, commercial activities and live entertainment).
  • Notarized letter of authorization from the property owner acknowledging and approving the addition of the ancillary use to your business.
  • Dimensioned Flood Plan:
    1. Provide detailed and dimensioned floor plan of the establishment.
    2. Include all exits/entrances, path of travel.
    3. Show approved outdoor spaced (provide dimensions for the area).
    4. Show location of proposed ancillary use (provide dimensions for the area).
    5. If modifications to the existing location are planned, please provide details on the floor plan with description of the proposed changes (stages or any other structures).

CURRENT BUSINESS LICENSE FEES

  • Business License Application Fee- first year license: $119.55

        Ancillary Licenses will have the same expiration date as your current business license and must be renewed at the same time.

  • Business License Annual renewal fee: $43.03

Refunds in full will not be issued for any license (Ancillary License) for which processing has been initiated (exemptions may apply).  No refunds will be issued upon cancellation of any application in which thirty (30) days have transpired from date of application and applicant has failed to comply with the requirements of the application process.
