Registration Now Open for Girls on the Run Programs in Twentynine Palms

The City of Twentynine Palms Parks & Recreation Department is excited to announce that registration is now open for the Girls on the Run programs, empowering girls through physical activity, confidence-building, and connection. The programs will run from March 3 through May 21.

Girls on the Run offers two age-specific programs designed to support girls at different stages of development:

  • Girls on the Run (Grades 3-5) meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-5:30 p.m.
  • Heart & Sole (Grades 6-8) meets Wednesdays from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

Both programs will meet at Patriotic Hall at Luckie Park and provide a safe, inclusive environment where girls build life skills such as goal setting, teamwork, emotional resilience, and healthy habits through running and movement. The season concludes with a celebratory 5K event.

The registration fee is $15 per participant, made possible through a grant from the National Recreation and park Association (NRPA) and Nike. This funding was awarded last year and continues to support girls in Twentynine Palms by reducing barriers to participation and advancing NRPA's Get Her in the Game initiative.

"Girls on the Run is about more than running, it's about helping girls recognize their inner strength, develop confidence, and build positive relationships," said Amy Tessier, Recreation Program Supervisor. "The Heart & Sole program is specifically designed to support middle school girls as they navigate adolescence while encouraging leadership, self-expression, and healthy decision-making."

Registration is required and must be completed through the Girls on the Run website at: https://www.gotrinlandempire.org/

Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged.
