Teen Astronomy Night: A Stellar Experience for Local Youth
Hosted by the City of Twentynine Palms Youth Council
The Twentynine Palms Youth Council is excited to host Teen Astronomy Night, a free evening of stargazing and discovery, held in partnership with Joshua Tree Astronomy Adventures and Sky's the Limit Observatory and Nature Center.
The event takes place at the renowned Sky's the Limit Observatory on Friday, May 23 from 8:30PM to 10:30PM, where teens will explore the wonders of the universe under some of the darkest skies in Southern California.
Participants will observe the night sky through Sky's the Limit's impressive Celestron 14" Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope, as well as other high-quality telescopes led by experienced Astronomy Tour guides. Expect to see the season's best solar system objects, stars, and deep sky phenomena—all explained in an engaging and accessible way.
Whether you are brand new to stargazing or already a space enthusiast, this event is designed to inspire awe and curiosity in every participant. Free beverages and snacks will be provided for all attendees.
"Teen Astronomy Night is about sparking curiosity and connecting teens to the universe—right here in their own community," said Amy Tessier, Youth Council Advisory. "Thanks to our incredible dark skies and partnerships with Sky's the Limit Observatory and Nature Center and Joshua Tree Astronomy Adventures, this event offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity for youth to explore the cosmos."
