Twentynine Palms to Host Girls on the Run 5K Celebration Sponsored by Twentynine Palms Rotary Club

The City of Twentynine Palms is proud to host its second annual Girls on the Run 5K Celebration on Thursday, May 14, at Luckie Park. The 5K begins at 4:30 PM at the Rotary Shelter, located at 5882 Luckie Ave.

Building on the success of its inaugural season, Girls on the Run in Twentynine Palms continues to thrive thanks to generous support from the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) and Nike, whose shared mission is to advance gender equity in youth sports. The 2026 program served 25 girls in grades 3-8, helping participants build confidence, develop essential life skills, and embrace physical activity in a positive, supportive environment.

This year's 5K Celebration is proudly presented by the Twentynine Palms Rotary Club, whose partnership helps make this meaningful community event possible.

The 5K marks the culmination of the season and serves as a joyful celebration of each participant's growth, courage, and determination. Families, friends, and community members are encouraged to attend and cheer on the girls as they cross the finish line - a powerful moment that symbolizes their accomplishments and personal journeys.

"This event is so much more than a run, it's a celebration of confidence, resilience, and the incredible growth we've seen in each girl throughout the season," said Amy Tessier, Recreation Program Supervisor. "Watching the girls cross the finish line with pride and joy is a powerful reminder of why programs like Girls on the Run matter so deeply in our community."
