Twentynine Palms Celebrates a Wildly Successful World Wildlife Day

The City of Twentynine Palms Parks & Recreation Department hosted an exciting and educational World Wildlife Day event, welcoming over 250 attendees throughout the day for an unforgettable experience celebrating wildlife and conservation.

The event brought together five incredible organizations dedicated to wildlife education and preservation, each sharing valuable insights on conservation efforts and ways the community can get involved. Guests had the opportunity to engage with passionate experts, explore interactive displays, and learn about the importance of protecting our planet’s biodiversity. Special thanks to the Joshua Tree National Park Association, Friends of the Big Morongo Canyon Preserve, The Wildlands Conservancy, Joshua Tree No-Kill Shelter, and Morongo Basin Conservation Association for joining us and educating our community!

A highlight of the day was the two captivating presentations by Pacific Animal Productions, where attendees got up close with some truly fascinating creatures! Their presentations introduced guests to a skunk, ball python, ring-tailed lemur, kookaburra, alligator, and hedgehog, offering a unique opportunity to learn about these animals’ habitats, behaviors, and more fun facts.

The success of this year’s World Wildlife Day is a testament to our community’s enthusiasm for learning about and protecting the natural world. A huge thank you to our participating organizations, attendees, and everyone who helped make this event a wild success!

Mark your calendars for next year’s World Wildlife Day event on Saturday, March 7, 2026!
