Free Virtual Coach-Mentor Training Offered by U.S. Soccer Foundation in Partnership with Twentynine Palms Parks and Recreation
Twentynine Palms Parks & Recreation is partnering with the U.S. Soccer Foundation to offer local coaches, mentors, and youth development leaders a free virtual Coach-mentor Training. This interactive session will take place on Tuesday, June 2 from 3:30-5:30 PM PDT via Zoom.
This training is designed to equip participants with practical tools to build stronger relationships with young people and create positive, impactful environments both on and off the field.
Attendees will gain valuable skills and strategies, including:
- Enhancing self-awareness and identifying personal blind spots
- Practicing reflection to improve coaching and mentoring effectiveness
- Teaching and modeling empathy to foster emotionally safe spaces
- Strengthening communication and trust through active listening
- Helping youth transfer life skills from sports into everyday life
- Guiding young people in setting and achieving SMART goals
Participants who complete the training will receive a Coach-Mentor Certificate of Completion from the U.S. Soccer Foundation. This training is ideal for youth sports coaches; after-school program leaders; mentors and community volunteers; and anyone working with young people interested in positive youth development.
