90th Annual Pioneer Days
A Century in the Making: Celebrating 100 Years of the Old Schoolhouse
TWENTYNINE PALMS, CA – The City of Twentynine Palms is proud to announce the return of its longest-running community tradition—the 90th Annual Pioneer Days, presented by Bowladium Family Fun Center, taking place October 15–18, 2026. This year's celebration honors the Old Schoolhouse Museum with the theme, "A Century in the Making: Celebrating 100 Years of the Old Schoolhouse."
Housed in Twentynine Palms' original 1927 one-room schoolhouse, the Old Schoolhouse Museum is the oldest public building in the Morongo Basin. Operated by the Twentynine Palms Historical Society, the museum preserves the rich history and heritage of the community through engaging exhibits, historic artifacts, photographs, archival collections, and a beautifully restored 1920s-era classroom.
The festivities begin on Thursday, October 15, with A Century in the Making community mixer at the historic Old Schoolhouse Museum. Join community members, local leaders, and history enthusiasts as we raise a glass to celebrate 100 years of the Old Schoolhouse. Guests will enjoy an evening of history, heritage, and community. Tickets for this special event will go on sale in mid-September.
Friday, October 16, the excitement continues with the return of the highly anticipated Oasis Lights. Downtown Twentynine Palms will come alive for an unforgettable evening of music, food, art, and entertainment. This free indoor and outdoor festival features live DJs, a vibrant vendor market, interactive activities, and much more. Don't miss the return of the fan-favorite Outhouse Races—a hilariously competitive desert tradition unlike any other!
On Saturday, October 17, the streets of downtown Twentynine Palms will come alive with marching bands, classic cars, colorful floats, community organizations, and Military as the beloved Pioneer Days Parade makes its way through town. It's the perfect opportunity for local businesses, service clubs, schools, and organizations to showcase their community pride.
After the parade, the celebration continues at the Twentynine Palms Community Center with Let's Play! KidsFest, an afternoon of games, activities, and local vendors designed for children and families to enjoy together. As the evening approaches, head over to the Freedom Plaza stage for free live concerts hosted by Levitt AMP, bringing the community together through the power of music and family-friendly entertainment.
The weekend concludes on Sunday, October 18, with a full day of community fun. Start your morning at Luckie Park with the 2nd Annual 5K Walk/Run, hosted by the 29 Palms Run Club. Then stay for the crowd-favorite Pet Parade, where furry friends are encouraged to dress in their best costumes and compete for fun prizes, including Best Dressed and Best Trick. To wrap up the weekend, head to the Historic Plaza for the 3rd Annual Pioneer Days Classic Car and Motorcycle Show, hosted by the Friends of the Historic Plaza, and enjoy an impressive display of vintage automobiles, hot rods, custom cruisers, and motorcycles—the perfect finale to an unforgettable Pioneer Days celebration.
