Brand New Multi-Sport Court Opens to Pickleball and Tennis Enthusiasts
The much-anticipated Multi-Sport Court at Luckie Park, featuring a newly designed space for pickleball and tennis, is set to open its gates to the public on Monday, May 20, 2024. This exciting addition to our community promises to be a hub of athletic activity and social engagement for residents and visitors alike.
Designed to cater to the growing popularity of pickleball and tennis, the Multi-Sport Court offers enthusiasts a premium venue to hone their skills and enjoy spirited competition. With a commitment to inclusivity and accessibility, the courts will operate on a first-come, first-serve basis outside of designated priority usage times, as outlined in the court schedule on the City’s website and on-site.
“As a pivotal addition to our recreational landscape, the Multi-Sport Court exemplifies our dedication to promoting active lifestyles and fostering community connections,” remarked Recreation Division Manager Kary Minatrea. “We are thrilled to provide a dynamic space where individuals of all ages and abilities can come together to enjoy the thrill of the sport.”
For the convenience of players, court lights will illuminate the playing area from dusk until 10:00 p.m., ensuring extended hours of enjoyment well into the evening. Additionally, pickleball nets, balls, and paddles can be obtained for use at the Parks & Recreation Department office during regular office hours, Monday through Friday, with a refundable deposit of $50.00.
An official grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at a later date.
Detailed rules and regulations, along with the court schedule, are readily accessible online at 29palms.org, allowing participants to stay informed and make the most of their time on the courts.
