City of Twentynine Palms Announces Cancellation of the 2026 Joshua Tree 55

The City of Twentynine Palms announces that the 2026 Joshua Tree 55 cycling event has been canceled. This decision comes after assessing the overall planning timeline, staffing needs, and operational requirements necessary to host a safe and successful ride.

The Joshua Tree 55 has been a well-loved event that brings together cyclists from across the region to experience the beauty of the Morongo Basin and the unique landscape of Joshua Tree National Park. The City is grateful for the continued enthusiasm and support from riders, volunteers, community partners, and local organizations who have contributed to the event over the years.

While the 2026 ride will not move forward, the City is exploring the potential for future Joshua Tree 55 events. Discussions will be taking place to evaluate long-term feasibility and to determine what resources, timelines, and coordination would be needed to bring the event back in a sustainable and successful format.

“We know the Joshua Tree 55 has meant a great deal to many participants and community members,” said Scott Clinkscales, Community Events Coordinator. “Our goal is to ensure that any future version of the event can be delivered with the level of quality and reliability our riders expect and deserve.”

The City of Twentynine Palms will share updates as more information becomes available.
