Background McArthur Wright, a native of South Carolina, born in Holly Hill to parents John Arthur and Victoria Wright, and was raised in Eutawville South Carolina. His educational journey commenced within the South Carolina public school system, beginning at St. James Elementary and culminating with his graduation from Holly Hill Roberts Hight School in 1984. In 1985, Mr. Wright embarked upon a distinguished career within the Marine Corps, during which he wedded his high school sweetheart, Alfreda McMillan Wright, and subsequently raised a family of five children: McArthur Jr., Mariana, Matthew, Jaydain and Drayson.
Over the course of his illustrious 20-year military tenure, McArthur Wright was assigned to various units across the globe, where he effectively mentored and trained numerous Marines. His military service includes combat experience in Operation Provide Comfort, Iraq Freedom, Desert Shield/Storm, and numerous other critical conflicts and operations, all of which he attributes to divine protection.
Mr. Wright retired from the Marine Corps in 2005, concluding his service with the rank of Communications Chief within the 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion at Twentynine Palms, California. His commitment to lifelong learning is reflected in his academic accomplishments, including a bachelor's degree in business management and a Master's Degree in Theological Studies from Liberty University, as well as Master's degrees in Organizational Leadership and Business Management from National University.
Currently, Mr. Wright is gainfully employed at the MCCS Career Resource Office at MCAGCC Twentynine Palms, where he provides invaluable assistance to service members transitioning from military to civilian life. Furthermore, he has been an active and engaged member of the Twentynine Palms community since 2002, assuming various roles and responsibilities.
In his present capacity, McArthur Wright serves as an Associate Minister at Gospel Fellowship Christian Center Church in Twentynine Palms and holds the esteemed position of President within the Ministerial Association of Twentynine Palms.
Demonstrating unwavering commitment to his adopted hometown, Mr. Wright envisions Twentynine Palms maintaining strong connections with MCAGCC, neighboring communities, and governmental officials.
