Background

Octavious Scott was born and raised in Palm Springs, CA. He attended Palm Springs High School his Freshman to Junior years and later moved to Oregon where he would receive his high school diploma from South Medford High School in 2005. After high school, Octavious enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he would serve for 8 years as an Aviation Ordnance man. During his military tenure, he served throughout Asia, the Pacific, and the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and the Global War on Terrorism. Octavious was honorably discharged from service in 2013. That same year, Octavious received his associate degree in general studies from Columbia College of Missouri. After completing his associate degree, Octavious relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area to pursue his bachelor’s degree. He received his bachelor’s degree in management from Golden Gate University in 2014, his master’s degree in leadership from Saint Mary’s College of California in 2019 and graduate certificate in Public Administration from Golden Gate University. While attending college, Octavious would gain experience working for nonprofit organizations as a program manager specializing in workforce development programs. In 2019, Octavious moved to Twentynine Palms to be closer to his family. He loves the City of Twentynine Palms and his number one priority as a Councilmember is prosperity and affordability for all residents.
