Extreme Heat Alert This Week!

The City of Twentynine Palms and Reach Out Morongo Basin are keeping a close eye on the weather and heat index this week. With extreme temperatures expected, the Twentynine Palms Senior Center at 6539 Adobe Road will be open as a cooling center from Monday, July 8, through Thursday, July 11, from 12PM to 7PM.

Located across from the Twentynine Palms Fire Department and next to the Basin Transit Center, the Senior Center is climate-controlled and has a backup generator. The center may extend its hours if the heat index stays at 115°F or higher.

Water will be provided, but no food service is available.

No pets allowed (except service animals). Keep your pets indoors or in shaded areas with plenty of water. Avoid walking them during the day to prevent paw burns. For pet info, contact Palms-N-Paws Animal Shelter at (760) 367-0157.

For assistance, call the Senior Center at (760) 361-1410.
