Animal Control
Mission Statement
The City of Twentynine Palms Animal Control is committed to protecting the health, safety, and well-being of all people and animals in our community through enforcement of state and local laws, providing compassionate care for every animal regardless of its temperament or condition and reducing the number of animals that enter our shelters. We will prioritize lifesaving as our guiding principle. We will shelter homeless, abandoned, and lost animals, work to keep and place animals in safe, caring homes, and provide education and services to enhance the lives of people, their animal companions, and strengthen the human-animal bond.
Who We Are
We are a small Animal Shelter and Animal Control facility run by the City of Twentynine Palms. We handle all kinds of animals, from house pets and livestock to birds of prey. We are not a boarding facility.
All adoptions are first come, first serve. We cannot reserve animals. All adopted animals must be taken from the shelter at the time of adoption. We are a minimum kill shelter, meaning we only euthanize when necessary. As long as the animals remain healthy and do not have or develop a dangerous temperament problem or illness, we keep working on getting them adopted.
Each year, we host special events like our Bi-Annual Low-Cost Rabies Clinic.
