Morongo Basin Transit Authority

The Morongo Basin Transit Authority (MBTA) is a public transportation agency serving Twentynine Palms and Morongo Basin communities. With offices located 10 miles to the west in the village of Joshua Tree, MBTA provides bus service to more than 20,000 riders per month. Its scheduled buses serve the City of Twentynine Palms, the Twentynine Palms Marine Base, and from Twentynine Palms link to Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, Landers, and Palm Springs/Palm Desert. Buses are equipped for the handicapped and for "Bike and Ride" patrons. See the website for schedules and fares.

Twentynine Palms Airport

Twentynine Palms Airport serves Twentynine Palms and San Bernardino County and is owned by the County of San Bernardino. The airport has more than two runways. Runway 8/26 is a paved runway extending 5531 feet. Runway 17/35 is paved and 3800 feet. Both runways are maintained and lighted. The facility is at an elevation of 1905 feet at a distance of about 6 miles east of Twentynine Palms. Tie ups are available. See web pages for details.

Palms Springs International Airport

Palms Springs International Airport is 52 miles south of Twentynine Palms. Served by a dozen different air carriers, it has connections to Los Angeles and numerous other airports. See the website for information on airlines, schedules, routes and stops.
