From time to time we have special events like our Bi-Annual Low Cost Rabies Clinic, or maybe we just received litters of puppies and/or kittens. This is where we will let you know what is happening and where.

Who We Are

We are a small Animal Shelter and Animal Control facility run by the City of Twentynine Palms, California. We handle all kinds of animals from house pets and livestock to birds of prey. We are not a boarding facility.

All adoptions are first come first serve. We cannot reserve animals. All adopted animals must be taken from the shelter at the time of adoption. We are a minimum kill shelter. This means we only euthanise when we must. As long as the animals remain healthy and do not have or develop a dangerous temperament problem or illness, we keep working to get them adopted.

Open Monday through Friday 12 noon to 5 p.m. / Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Please know we do our best to keep these lists up to date; but with the number of animals of all types that come and go everyday, it is difficult.

If you do not see a particular pet, that does not mean there isn't one here for you. The only way to know for sure is to call--or better yet, stop in to see us.

Adoption Information

The adoption fee is $121.00 for a dog and $82.00 for a cat. The fee covers the adoption, 1 year city license, the first round of shots, a heath checkup at a local vet, spay/neuter voucher, 1 month of pet insurance for $1, and a starter kit.

*If your new pet has not been altered you will receive a voucher good for up to the listed amounts toward the procedure at participating clinics.
