Background
In a Special City Council meeting held September 27, 2007, the Twentynine Palms City Council appointed local resident Jim Harris to fill the three-year term vacated by Kevin Cole.
Jim has lived in the City of Twentynine Palms since 1988. He is currently retired from the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center after working most recently as the Services Operation Manager with Marine Corps Community Services for 18 years. Jim has also worked in the retail and services industry with Zales Jewelers where he oversaw security for the 10 western states.
He enjoys motorcycle riding (on the street, not dirt) and playing golf. Jim has been a Polygraph Examiner for approximately 35 Years and has conducted more than 10,000 tests. He enjoys public speaking.
Jim is a widower and has a daughter, Stacey, who has provided him with four grandchildren. He also has a stepson, Jason, who graduated from Twentynine Palms High School in 1999 and is a jet pilot, flying Lear Jets out of the Las Vegas Airport.
